GOVERNING BODY OF BASEBALL FORMED
GREATER INTEREST TAKEN IN GAME (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, January 14. An enthusiastic meeting at Wellington decided to form the New Zealand Baseball (Softball) Council. As the game has grown to such an extent in the Wellington district and inquiries have been received from numerous other centres, it was thought advisable to have a governing body to control the sport in the Dominion. The officers are: President, Mr A. Jenkins; vice-presidents, Messrs J. K. Lennon and P. Wilson; executive, Messrs L. B. Wilson, W. S. Wilson, C. Bristow, G. Tristram and A. R. Headifen; secretary and treasurer, Mr J. Cameron.
Interest in baseball has increased as a result of the matches against the Mormon team.
