Fat Cattle Yarding . Stronger PRICES SHOW EASING TENDENCY (United Press Association) DUNEDIN, January 12. The yarding of fat cattle at Burnside today was stronger both in number and quality than at the previous sale. There were 320 head forward and there was a general easing of £1 to £1 10/- a head. Extra prime heavy bullocks made to £2O 17/6, prime £l5 8/- to £l7 17/6, medium £ll 5/- to £l2 17/6, and light down to £8 15/-, Extra prime cows and heifers made to £ll 2/6, prime £9 12/6 to £lO 2/6, medium £7 5/- to £8 10/- and light down to £5,

There was a medium entry of stores. Four-year-old bullocks made to £lO 6/-, three years to £9 7/-, and twoyear to £5 10/-. A medium entry of 1701 fat sheep was submitted, including a few trucks of especially good wethers and ewes. Values were easier throughout by 1/6 to 2/- a head.. Entries were again below normal at the weekly stock sale at Addington. Store lambs were the exception. About 6000 came forward and for best rape sorts there was a keen sale at from 18/- to 20/9. Others made from 15/to 17/6. Fat lambs sold leather slowly, except for butchers? sorts, which made up to B|d a lb. Fat Sheep.—About 3600 were penned and there was a keen sale for all better sorts, with an advance of about 2/- a head. Best wethers made from 33/- to 36/-, tops to 38/6, good 30/- to 32/6, and medium and light down to 25/-. Best ewes made 28/- to 32/-. tops to 3/6, good 23/- to 27/-, and light and medium from 17/- to 22/-. Fat Cattle.—There was a small entry of 425 head and an improved sale by up to 15/-. Heavy steers made from £l5 to £lB 17/6, good medium weights £l3 10/- to £l4 15/- and medium and light £lO to £l2 10/-. Best heifers made from £lO to £ll 10/- and tops to £l3 10/-. Best cows made to £l2 15/-, good £9 to £ll, and ordinary £7 5/- to £8 15/-. Best beef made from 38/- to 41/- a 1001 b. Special made to 42/6, good to ordinary 37/6 and down to 33/-. Store Cattle.—Grown steers sold well at up to £8 18/6, 15-month steers to £6 5/- and 15-month heifers to £5 1/-. Potting bulls made from £5 to £ll, these being in keen demand. Fat Pigs.—An easing took place in the porker section, values being from 30/6 to 51/6. The average price a lb was from 6d to 6Jd. Baconers made from 54/6 to £3 19/6, the average a lb being from 5Jd to 6jd. Store Pigs.—There was a heavy yarding, but a keen sale for all classes. Wenners made from 14/- to 21/-, slips 22/- to 26/- and stores 27/- to 34/6. SHEEPSKIN SALE AT DUNEDIN NO ALTERATION IN PRICES (United Press Association) DUNEDIN, January 12. There was a good attendance of buyers at the fortnightly sheepskin sale. Competition was good and prices for all grades can be quoted about on a par with the last sale. Following is the range of prices: — Faulty pelts, to 3|d; first pelts, to crossbred quarter wool, to 6Jd; crossbred halfwool, to 7d; crossbred threequarter wool, to B|d; crossbred full wool, to 9?d; fine crossbred quarter wool, to 63d; fine crossbred half wool, to 7Jd; fine crossbred three-quarter wool, to 9d; fine crossbred full wool, to 9id; halfbred quarter wool, to 6Jd; halfbred half wool, to B£d; halfbred three-quarter wool, to 9jd; halfbred full wool, to lOJd; crossbred dead, to 7Jd; fine crossbred dead, to 8d; halfbred dead, to crossbred lambs, to BJd; fine crossbred lambs, to 8|; halfbred lambs, to B|d; merino full wool, to BJd.
