GENERAL NOTES The motor-vessel Tamatea sailed for Stewart Island at 10.20 o’clock yesterday morning with passengers, malls and cargo and returned to Bluff at 4.30 in the afternoon. The Port Line’s motor-vessel Port Hobart finished working yesterday afternoon and sailed late in the evening for Dunedin. The Union Steam Ship Company has received advice that its coastal trading vessel Waimarlno left Wellington at 4 p.m. on Tuesday for Lyttelton, Dunedin and Bluff. She is due at Bluff tomorrow and will sail the same day for Dunedin. The Port Line’s steamer Port Campbell is expected to finish working and sail about 5 o’clock this morning for Auckland. The Union Company has received advice that the Ruahine arrived at London on the morning of January 11. She will leave London again on February 24 for Wellington, Port Chalmers, Lyttelton and Bluff. The Shaw, Savill vessel Matakana has begun her Homeward loading at Wellington. She will leave on Saturday to fill up at New Plymouth, Auckland, Gisborne and Napier, leaving the last port on January 29 for London, Hull and Newcastle-on-Tyne, via Cape Horn and Montevideo.

The North German Lloyd steamer Anhalt, which is discharging cargo from New Orleans at Auckland, is to leave for the south today. She is due at Wellington tomorrow and will finish unloading at Lyttelton and Port Chalmers. At the latter port, on completion of discharge, she will undergo her annual overhaul. The Blue Star Line has had cabled advice that the Imperial Star, out-bound from London, cleared Balboa on Sunday. She is due at Auckland on January 27, and will complete at Dunedin, Bluff, and New Plymouth. The Port Line’s Port Gisborne arrived at Wellington on Tuesday from Napier. She is to complete Homeward loading there and will sail tomorrow for London, via Cape Horn and Las Palmas.

The Mataroa is due at Wellington today from Auckland to finish unloading her London cargo and will leave again on January 18 for Auckland. She will now load at Timaru on January 19 and 20, Lyttelton, January 21 and 24, Picton on January 25 to 27, and will return to Wellington on January 28 to complete, sailing at 5 o’clock the following afternoon for Southampton and London, via the Panama Canal. The steamer Tekoa has arrived at New Plymouth from Fremantle, and is loading Homeward to the Federal Company’s agency. She will proceed to Auckland and Wellington, being due at the latter port on January 24, and leaving on January 27 to fill up at Wanganui. Thence she will sail finally on February 3 for Southampton, London, Avonmouth, Cardiff, Liverpool, Manchester and Glasgow.
