BLUFF REGATTA

ENTRIES AND DRAW At a meeting of the Bluff Regatta Committee last night entries were received for the annual regatta to be held on New Year’s Day and the draw, for positions took place. The entries were as follows, the names being given in the order in which they were drawn for places:— Double sculls (youths).—Riverton, Railway A, Invercargill, Railway B, Awarua. Senior pairs.—Riverton B, Otago, Invercargill, Riverton A, Awarua A, Awarua B, Railway A, Northend, Invercargill B, Railway B. » For the Jellicoe class sailing race entries were received for the Irene, Rawene, and Vorena. ; The Bluff Regatta Committee has received a big number of trophies to be competed for at the annual regatta on New Year’s Day. The trophies include valuable cups from Sir Robert Anderson, whose trophy will be known as the R. A. Anderson Cup and has been allotted for competition by the youth’s fours, and Mr E. J. McLachlan, president of the Southland Rowing Association. Mr. McLachlan’s cup will be competed for in the youth’s double sculls event. The trophies, are on exhibition in the window of Mr F. Cooper’s shop in Gore street and the display has caused much interest.
