DUNEDIN CITY RATES

(Special to The Times) DUNEDIN, December 22. Today was the last day for the payment, without penalty, of city rates for the year. Of a total of £287,896 payable, £272,544 or 94.6 per cent, was received by the city treasury, leaving outstanding £15,352 or 5.4 per cent, on which the penalty will be imposed. Last year’s rates amounted to £271,070 and by due date £250,125 or 92.2 per cent, had been received leaving . outstanding £20,945 or 7.8 per cent.
