SOUTHLAND SUMMER SHOW
ATTRACTIONS ARRANGED FOR EVENINGS The Southland Agricultural and Pastoral Association’s summer show has attractions for all classes and all types but not the least of these is the programme that is arranged for the evenings when those who come to enjoy themselves can fill in a pleasant hour or two before they spend their money in the side shows. The big attraction of the evening entertainments this year is the steerriding contests. Prize money totalling £3O is offered to those who are bold enough to try to remain on the backs of these vigorous beasts. Professional and amateur running and cycling events will also be held and there will be another relay race between teams representing the business houses of Invercargill. No. evening programme would be complete without pony trots and these, needless to say, have not been forgotten this year.
