Following the completion of the first consignment of over 50,000 carcasses by the Karamea, which will be delivered in London in time for the Christmas market, the schedule for Hawke’s Bay lamb was reduced from the opening rate of 9Jd to 9 ; Jd a lb. The rate for Christmas shipment is always highei' than the schedule for the subsequent killings. It was expected that the first shipment at 9.jd would be exported from the Hawke’s Bay by the Rangitiki. A medal entitling him to life membership of the New South Wales Primary Producers’ Union was presented to Mr H. E. Blyde, president of the North Taranaki provincial executive of the Farmers’ Union, by Mr W. R. Moir (Inglewood) on behalf of the Hon. N. R. Dunlop, leader of the party of New South Wales farmers, which recently visited Taranaki.
