“ARMY DAY" INSTITUTED IN GERMANY
BARRACKS TO BE OPEN TO PUBLIC BERLIN, December 8. The Minister of War (Field-Marshal Werner von Blomberg) has decreed that a “day of armed forces” shall become an annual institution and that on this day the barracks shall be opened to the public—men, women and children —who can fire army rifles, pistols and machine-guns, throw dummy hand-grenades, ride in tanks, eat the soldiers’ food and watch military performances staged for- their benefit, all for a small fee which will be paid into a relief account.
