ITALIAN INFLUX INTO AUSTRALIA
MANY PROTESTS TO CANBERRA (Received December 6, 10.25 p.m.) CANBERRA, December 6. As a result of many protests against the influx of Italians, an early survey of the alien migration position is to be made by the new Minister for the Interior (Mr John McEwen), who expressed the opinion that there was really no need for an outcry. Mr McEwen points out that of 5129 foreign migrants entering Australia this vear, 1882 were Italians.
