KING OF THE BELGIANS
INTEREST IN DOMINION LONDON, November 10. The King of the Belgians, Leopold 111, held a reception of delegates to the Nine-Power Conference at the Royal Palace, Brussels. After the delegates were presented to his Majesty, certain members were invited for special audience. Among these was the New Zealand delegate, Mr W. J. Jordan. The King spoke to Mr Jordon in high terms of the New Zealand troops, many of whom were on active service in Belgium, and he was interested to hear of the provision which had been made by New Zealand for pensions. He said that if at any time he visits his Pacific colonies he would be delighted if arrangements could allow him to visit New Zealand, the attraction of which he has heard so much of. Mr Jordan thanked his Majesty for his kind interest in the welfare of the New Zealand soldiers and in the Dominion generally. While in Belgium Mr Jordan will endeavour to visit some of the war graves and pay respects to the memory of the New Zealand soldiers who are buried there.
