PACIFIC AIR SERVICE
(United Press Association)
WELLINGTON, December 3. Speaking about the cable message from San Francisco that the PanAmerican Airway’s service to New Zealand would have Russell as a base instead of Auckland Mr Harold Gatty stated in an interview that the cable was erroneous and it had definitely been decided that the service would run to Auckland. Russell would be used purely as an emergency base with a wireless station for the purpose of guiding the aeroplane into the coast by direction-finding.
