MINING AMENDMENT BILL PASSED (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, December 3. The Legislative Council met at 2.30 p.m. The Mortgagors and Lessees Rehabilitation Amendment Bill was read a second time pro forma and referred to the Statutes Revision Committee. The Mining Amendment Bill was reported back from the Goldfields and Mines Committee and the Leader of the Council (the Hon. M. Fagan) moved its second reading, outlining its provisions and stressing the need for clauses providing for health safeguards. The Bill was supported by other members of the Council, put through the committee stages and nassed.
