PARALYSIS RECURS IN MELBOURNE

CASES FROM DISTRICTS THOUGHT CLEAR (Received November 2, 12.10 a.m.) MELBOURNE, November 1. Twenty new cases of infantile paralysis were reported today; the total is now 690. A large proportion of the recent cases came from country districts, but ■ a curious feature of today’s reports is that the cases were from the original metropolitan districts which it was thought were clear and in which the schools had been reopened and precautions relaxed. The Federal Government decided today to grant £lO,OOO for the aftercare of patients, to supplement the Victorian Government’s grant of £lO,OOO.
