OTAUTAU The Misses Humphries, Invercargill, were the guests of Mr and Mrs R. Brown for the week-end. Miss Margaret Aitken, Invercargill, and Mr and Mrs D. Roberts, Gladfield, have been visiting Mr and Mrs C. Renowden. Miss M. Brooker, Invercargill, spent the week-end at her home in Otautau. Mr and Mrs D. Finnegan, Dunedin, were the guests of Mrs Keith recently Mr and Mrs W. A. Low, Tuatapere, were the guests of Mr and Mis W. J. McCulloch for the week-end. Mr and Mrs J. D. Campbell, Invercargill, spent the week-end with Mr and Mrs H. W. D. Gazzard. Mrs E. Mathieson is the guest of Miss Malcolm, Meadowbank, Bayswater. Misses Donnan, Shaw and R. Campbell visited Dunedin during the weekend. Mr and Mrs G. A. Brash left on Saturday by motor for a tour through Canterbury. Mr and Mrs G. Brooker, Winton, were the guests of Mr and Mrs J. T. Brooker for the week-end. Mrs A. Matheson, Orepuki, spent the week-end with Mr and Mrs E. Matheson, Mary street. Mist; V. Bird, Cromwell, spent the week-end with her parents, Mr and Mrs R. Bird. Mr and Mrs H. Macpherson were the guests of Mr and Mrs K. Pritchett, Dunedin, during the week-end. Miss Audrey Roberts, Invercargill, has been visiting Miss A. Collie, Bayswater. Miss Margaret Sinclair, Invercargill, spent the week-end at her home in Otautau. Mr and Mrs John Muir, Niagara, have been the guests of Mr and Mrs E. R. Dickson, Waikouro. Mr and Mrs G. B. Burns returned on Tuesday after an extended holiday in England, Scotland and on the Continent. , ... j Mr and Mrs A. D. Brash visited Lumsden during the week-end. The Misses Seatter and Mr W. Seatter motored to Waikaka, where they were the guests of Mr and Mrs W. Sinclair recently Mr and Mrs J. Kirk were in Invercargill on Labour Day, when they were guests at the McEwan-Jenkins wedding. Miss Marjory Lumsden, Invercargill, spent the week-end with Mr and Mrs G. H. Stevens. NIGHTCAPS Mr and Mrs P. Boyle, Heddon Bus’i, were guests of Mr and Mrs F. Boyle, recently. ~ Mr and Mrs H. Brown, Dunedin, were the guests of Mr and Mrs J. B. Grant for Labour Day week-end. Mr and Mrs H. Insall, Invercargill, have been the guests of the latter s parents, Mr and Mrs A. Malcolm. Mr and Mrs H. Hannah, Dunedm, were the guests of Mr and Mrs J. B. Grant recently. Mr and Mrs T. C. Duncan and family motored to Bluecliffs for the holidays. Miss M. Kelly, spent the week-end in Miss M. McQueen, spent the weekend at her home at Kennington. She was accompanied by Miss Steans. . Mr and Mrs J. Lawton and their daughter are spending a holiday at Bluff. . , r Mr and Mrs J. Allen visited Invercargill during the week-end. Miss V. McKenzie went to her home in Winton for the holidays, and motored to Queenstown during the week-end. Mr and Mrs E. Mason motored to Dunedin for the week-end. Mr and Mrs J. Prendeville were guests of Mr and Mrs J. South, Hedgehope, during the week-end. Mr and Mrs D. McGregor and family were at Colac Bay for the holidays. Mr and Mrs O. V. Berry and family, motored to Invercargill and Te Anau for the holidays. Mr and Mrs C. Mills and family spent Labour Day week-end at Queenstown. Dr and Mrs G. Wood and their daughters motored to Queenstown for the week-end. Mr and Mrs J. Neylon are spending a holiday in Tirnaru and Christchurch. Mr and Mrs J. Robbie, Invercargill, were the guests of Dr and Mrs Wood during the week-end. z Miss J. Sneddon, Invercargill, spent the week-end at her home in Nightcaps. Miss L. Dockerty, Dunedin, spent the week-end at her home in Nightcaps. Mr and Mrs A. McLaughlan, Garston, were the guests of Mr and Mrs J. Grant for the week-end. Mr and Mrs J. McCoy have returned from a holiday in Balclutha and Dunedin. Miss D. Smith is visiting Mrs L. Dawson, Mossburn. Mr and Mrs J. B. McLeod were recent visitors to Mr and Mrs J. E. Russell, Wairaki. Mrs F. Gibbon, Wellington, has been the recent guest of Miss M. Sheddon. Mr and Mrs A. Brown, are spending a holiday in Dunedin. Mr and Mrs A. McKay have gone to Dunedin to live. Mr and Mrs J. C. Purdue have returned after being the guests of Mr and Mrs J. E. Russell, Wairaki. Among those who travelled to Goie for the races on Monday were Mr and Mrs J. Dempster, Mr and Mrs J. C. Purdue, Mr and Mrs J. Prendeville; Mesdames B. Rushton, A. Grant, D. Spowart, J. Spowart; Misses S. Purdue C. Tikey, D. Rushton and R. Ward. Miss Vera Brown is spending a holiday in Gore.

OREPUKI Mr and Mrs J. Bishop and their two small sons have returned to Dunedin, after being the guests of Mr and Mrs R. Betteridge. Mrs A. Auld, Wellington, who is visiting her parents, Mr and Mrs W. Herricks, sen., spent a few days at Tuatapere recently. Miss M. Boniface, is visiting her aunt, Mrs J. Cook, Invercargill. Miss E. McCliskey has returned to Gore, after spending a few days at her home in Orepuki. Mr and Mrs D. S. Brown and family have returned to their home in Progress Valley, after being the guests of Mrs G. Popenhagen. Mrs Jackson, Invercargill, is the guest of her daughter, Mrs E. Crossland. Miss S. Irvine has returned to Invercargill after being the guest of Mrs Spence for a few days. Mrs N. McNay visited Invercargill during the week. Mr and Mrs A. Smith, sen., and Mr and Mrs A. Smith, and their two sons, Invercargill, were recent guests of Mr and Mrs R. Betteridge. Mrs J. Jones has returned to Invercargill from a holiday in Orepuki. Miss E. Bennett, has returned home after spending a few days in Invercargill. Mr and Mrs A. Ackers, Clifden, visited Orepuki during the week. Mr and Mrs H. Simpson, Tuatapere, were recent visitors to Orepuki.
