A new tunnel through the Vosges, the longest in France, has been opened by President Lebrun. It will reduce to 15 minutes a journey which has hitherto occupied many hours. Mr William F. Sturm, who managed the motor-speed attempts of Sir Malcolm Campbell, Sir Henry Segrave, and Mr Kaye Don at Florida and Utah, has died at Indianapolis at the age of 54.
