MATAURA STUD FOALINGS TO PHILAMOR Three foalings of interest are reported from the stud of Todd Bros, at Mataura. All three are by their own sire Philamor, who is booked for a fairly busy season. Pompax has a rather nice filly to the imported horse. She was not a success on the turf, but has excellent breeding credentials. Pompax, now seven years old, was got by Pombal from Makepeace, by the great Martian from The Hague, by Stepniak-Peace, by The Officer-Content, by Dread-nought-Lullaby, by Apremont. Insolence also has a filly. She was got by Solferino from Comment (the dame of Inevitable), by ProvocationWailethe, by Lethe-Wairoa, by King Cole-Wainui, by Ravensworth-Waimea. Paigle, the dam of Peony Rose, has a good-looking colt. Paigle was got by Night Raid from Rose Lady, who was bred by Dr W. Robertson, and is by Rose Noble-Red Charm, by Charlemagne 11-Red Peony, by St. Clair-Red Ensign, by St. George-Red Rose, by Traducer.
