ELECTION AS LIFE MEMBERS

FATHER AND HIS FOUR SONS (Special to The Times) AUCKLAND, October 15. What is believed to be a unique event among New Zealand farming organizations was the election of a father and his four sons as life members of the Auckland Metropolitan Agricultural and Pastoral Association. Impressed by the work of the association, Mr H. W. Driver, a farmer, of Clevdon, applied for life membership for himself and his sons, Messrs A. V. Driver, E. M. Driver, W. D. Driver and H. L. Driver, whose ages range from 23 years down to 16. As a youth Mr Driver, sen., was a printer before adopting farming as his life’s work 37 years ago, when he was 19 years of age. In all he developed five farms in the Pukekohe, Waikato, Manurewa and Clevedon districts. The lastnamed farm, of 750 acres, he acquired 11 years ago.
