BERKSHIRE PIG IMPORTED

An importation of interest to pig breeders is Messrs H. C. Taylor and Son’s Canadian Boar, Woodburn Benefactor (78507). Bred by Messrs E. Brien and Sons, of Ridgetown, Ontario, Canada, and imported through the New Zealand and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, Benefactor is out of a little sister to Woodburn Landon, imported last year for Mr O. V. Clausen, of Palmerston North. By Highclere Rival (76891) out of Woodbum Rosa Belle 21N (77784) Benefactor is a quality pig of modern Berkshire type. He has deep lengthy sides with a smooth top line, carrying over to well shaped hams and is covered with a coat of quality hair. Numerous enquiries have recently been made for Canadian Berkshire pigs and it is anticipated that quite a number of animals will be imported within the next few months.
