SABOTAGE IN UNITED STATES NAVY

INTERFERENCE WITH ENGINES OF HEAVY CRUISER WASHINGTON, October 13. A naval board of inquiry has announced evidence of sabotage of the machinery in the new heavy cruiser Vincennes while the vessel was undergoing her trials. A metal bar and a file were apparently placed in two of the turbine reduction gear boxes. This is the fourth serious incident involving navy vessels in the past seven years.
