MR JORDAN AT GENEVA

ATTITUDE ABOUT SPAIN QUESTIONED (From Our Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON, September 21. The attitude adopted by the High Commissioner for New Zealand in London (Mr W. J. Jordan) at Geneva during the discussion of the Spanish situation was raised in the Notice-of-Ques-tion given in the House of Representatives today by Mr K. J. Holyoake (Nat., Motueka). He asked the Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage) whether Mr Jordan’s speech advocating the placing of Spain under the League of Nations mandate was made with the full cognizance and approval of the New Zealand Government, whether the British Foreign Secretary (Mr R. A. Eden) and representatives of the other British Dominions were consulted before the speech was made, if representatives of the other British nations were consulted and whether they were in agreement with the sentiments voiced by Mr Jordan.
