BADMINTON A friendly C grade match between a local team and a team from Waikiwi was played at Kennington recently. The home team won by nine games to one. Following were the scores, Kennington names mentioned first:— Men’s Doubles.—R. Henderson and F. McLew beat S. Brash and I. Cawthorn, 15-4,15-4; D. Hillis and R. Hillis beat A. Robertson and S. Farmer, 8-15; 15-10, 15-13; F. Alexander and S. Cloughley lost to W. Robertson and L. Shiffelbein, 4-15, 9-15. Women’s Doubles.—Mrs J. Henderson and Miss Graham beat Misses Patterson and Robertson, 15-0; 15-8; Miss Fox and Mrs Fox beat Mrs Brash and Miss E. Thomas, 15-7, 15-2; Mesdames Henderson and Alexander beat Misses V. Robertson and B. Ness, 15-8, 6-15, 15-8.
