STRONG PROTEST FROM VATICAN

CROWNING OF NAZI “PROPHET”

DR ROSENBERG’S BOOK

(United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright) (Received September 15, 6.30 p.m.) VATICAN CITY, September 14. The papal newspaper Osservatore Romano strongly protests against the public honours rendered at Nuremberg to Dr Alfred Rosenberg, leader of the Fighting Organization for German Culture, for his book “The Myth of the Twentieth Century,” which previously was placed on the Vatican’s forbidden index. Osservatore Romano declares: “The apparent moderation of the Nuremberg rally does not conceal the fact that the struggle against the Church and against the rights guaranteed it under a solemn concordat will continue without respite. “The solemn proclamation of Dr Rosenberg as the crowned prophet of the Nationalist-Socialist movement shows how dangerous is the road of cultural development Germany is beginning to take.”
