BARQUENTINE IN DOCK

FIRST TIME FOR A YEAR (Special to The Times) AUCKLAND, September 15. For the first time since she left London a year ago the 300 ton barquentine Cap Pilar entered dock for cleaning and painting today. Owned and commanded by Captain Adrian Seligman the Cap Pilar arrived at Auckland from Sydney on July 13 in the course of a world voyage and had been since berthed at the Western Viaduct.

The barquentine was towed to the Calliope Dock and entered in company with the Union Company’s cargo steamer Kairanga. The Kairanga left dock tonight but the work on the Cap Pilar will not be completed until tomorrow.

Stores sufficient for six months’ sailing have been taken aboard the Cap Pilar. It is probable that the barquentine will clear Auckland on Friday morning for Mangareva in the Tuamotu Archipelago. 3000 miles distant in midPacific. From the Tuamotu Archipelago the Cap Pilar will proceed to the Marquesas Group and will then probably continue her northward journey to San Francisco, via Honolulu.
