legislation approved (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, September 14. Legislation for the establishment of the New Zealand Council of Sport on the lines decided at the recent conference between the Minister of Internal Affairs (the Hon. W. E. Parry) and the New Zealand sports bodies was approved by the Government yesterday. Mr Parry stated that a Bill embodying the scheme would now be prepared for i submission to Parliament.

Police Constable A. G. Chapman has died at Haifa from injuries received in a fall while sleep-walking. To escape the heat he slept on the roof of the police headquarters at Beisan, near the Jordan, and walking round the roof in his sleep he stepped over the edge.
