FALLS FROM TRAINS
THREE ACCIDENTS IN CANTERBURY

CHRISTCHURCH, September 5. Three men fell from crowded special trains travelling to and from Christchurch for the second Test. One was sent to hospital, another suffered minor injuries and the third was uninjured. The two who were injured were not seen falling from the trains which did not stop. John Hamilton, aged 28, a labourer, of Oamaru, fell from a south-bound train near Fairton, and lay all night in a plantation. He was not found till 3 p.m. today by a party of police from Ashburton. He was admitted to hospital suffering from concussion, bruises and abrasions about 1 p.m. today. C. Wright, of Wataroa, South Westland, fell from a West Coast train near Arthur’s Pass. Wright suffered bruises and cuts over the left eye. He was found by a passing motorist and taken to the pass. Early yesterday morning a man fell from a West Coast to Christchurch train near Craigieburn. The train was stopped and the man was found uninjured searching for his false teeth.
