MIGRATION POLICY
SCHEME FOR BOYS AND GIRLS FAVOURED
(United Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 13.
The opinion that the time was not opportune for New Zealand to adopt a large scale immigration policy was expressed by the Dominion Executive of the New Zealand Farmers Union today. Delegates favoured a system whereby selected boys and girls would be brought out to the Dominion along the lines of the Flock House scheme. It was pointed out that if some such arrangement were made it would result in a supply of these migrants being available in a year or two s time and going gradually into employment without in any way disturbing the labour market. Delegates also, pointed out that boys and girls in their early teens were more adaptable to a I'te in a new country and would probably n. in better than older migrants.
