HOUSING SCHEME

TENDERS ACCEPTED

AUCKLAND, May 13.

An announcement that tenders had just been accepted for the erection of houses at Wanganui and Palmerston North, and that it was expected to call tenders in eight to 12 weeks for houses at Ponsonby, was made by the Parliamentary Under-Secretary in Charge of Housing (Mr J. A- Lee) tonight. Mr Lee said he was unable at present to give the names of the successful tenderers for the work in two southern cities. Discussing the Housing Scheme in general Mr Lee said provision had been made so far for 800 houses.
