HARBOUR BOARDS’ DISPUTE

NO AGREEMENT REACHED (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 13. The case of the New Zealand Harbour Boards Employees’ Industrial Union and the New Zealand Harbour Boards’ Industrial Union of Employers came before the Conciliation Council today. Objection was made by 25 local craft unions and six Dominion craft unions to being cited. Mr Moulton, representing the whole ci the skilled trades in New Zealand, in lodging the objection suggested that the council should adjourn to enable the harbour board employees’ organization and the skilled workers an opportunity to come to an agreement suitable to everybody. It was finally agreed to take the preliminary matters only till a meeting was held between the parties. Discussion on the clauses of the award continued all day, no agreement being reached. The council adjourned until tomorrow.
