EDUCATION SELECT COMMITTEE
MEETING AT WELLINGTON (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 24. At the invitation of the Minister ol Education (the Hon. P. Fraser) the Government members of the Education Select Committee of the House of Representatives has been meeting at Wellington during the past few days to analyse and consider the comments of education authorities on the recommendations of the Parliamentary Recess Education Committee of 1930. The opinions of these members will be submitted to the Minister of Education, who will give them consideration with a view to framing draft legislation. The ultimate responsibility for the form the legislation will take will rest with the Minister and the Government. It is intended that ample opportunity be given to those public bodies, organizations and persons interested to give evidence before the full Education Committee before the session opening. It is expected by adopting this method that time will be saved when the Education Committee of the House is considering the Bill after its duction.
