Miss Eileen Windus left yesterday on an extended holiday visit to Sydney. Miss Myrtle Emerson, Toa, is spending a holiday with Miss G. Hoddinott, Otautau. Mrs R. M. Strang, Lewis street, leaves tomorrow to spend a holiday in Christchurch and Wellington. Miss Grace Basstian, Tweed street, was a visitor to Dunedin at the weekend for the Russian Ballet. Mrs W. McLeery, of Dunedin, is spending a short holiday with her sister, Mrs G. Tinker, of Earn street. Mr and Mrs W. J. A. McGregor, Mt. Linton, were visitors to town at the week-end for the Ewan-Hunter wedding. The Misses Phyllis, Olga and Brenda Drewe, River road, returned yesterday from Dunedin, where they attended the Russian Ballet. Mrs Robert Armstrong, of Wellington, and her daughter, arrive tomorrow to be the guests of Mrs M. Cassels, Gala street Dr and Mrs D. E. Hansen, of Christchurch, will visit Invercargill for the Southland Technical College j'ubilee. They will be the guests of their daughter, Mrs Morris Macdonald, Kelvin road. On Saturday evening the Invercargill Cabaret Club held its first dance of the season in Elmwood Garden. Among those present were Mr and Mrs G. F. Tobin, Mr and Mrs N. L. Watson, Mr and Mrs G. M. Broughton, Mr and Mrs C. R. Hart, Mr and Mrs W. E. Hazlett, Mr and Mrs Reginald Lund, Mr and Mrs-H. J. Macalister, Mr and Mrs A. V. Osmond, Mr and Mrs T. Wray Wilson, Mr and Mrs A. H. Robins, Misses J. Moffett, P. McCarthy, C. Lindsay (Wellington), K. Moffett, T. Mac Ewan, H. Nichol, T. McKay, M. Hutton, L. Millard; Messrs A. Broad, H. Carswell, G. Gryles, J. Hamilton (Bluff), D. Howorth, K. Mac Ewan, W. R. MacDonald, E. Nichol, R. Oliver and R. Davies. Mr and Mrs A. H. Wilson, Princes street, entertained a few friends at a social evening on Saturday. Music for dancing was provided by E. Henderson (piano-accordion), G. Donald (piano), and Bartlow (saxophone). Items were contributed by Mrs P. P. Wimsett, Mrs E. Hunt, Mrs M. O. Rourke, Miss M.
