CONVERSION OF CAR

SHIP’S FIREMAN SENTENCED (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 21. A sentence of three months’ imprisonment with hard labour was imposed on Leonard Cyril Ferguson, a ship’s fireman, aged 32 years, for conversion of a car. Mr E. D. Mosley, S.M., said he was satisfied with the identification. The evidence showed that the car was involved in a collision in which both it and another were damaged, but accused disappeared from the scene after the driver of the other car had told him to remain while he went to telephone.
