SUMMER TIME

To The Editor Sir,—Of what benefit is summer time to the people of New Zealand during April? The half-hour earlier in the mornings is certainly a cause of expense and inconvenience to a large number of them. The question is, do the people who find summer-time of use during April outnumber those who find it causes expense for lighting during the early hours and inconvenience in other ways? Would it be possible for your paper to conduct a postal ballot to find out whether the majority favour the present arrangement or the reversion to true time on the first of April?—Yours, etc., SIDEY TIME.
