TEXTILE CONFERENCE OPENED

23 NATIONS REPRESENTED (Received April 4, 6.30 p.m.) WASHINGTON, April 3. The textile conference has opened, 23 nations being represented. The German commercial attache was present as an observer. The president ot the Textile Conference (Mr J. G. Winant) in an address to the delegates strongly endorsed the American policy ot removing barriers of international trade by means of reciprocal agreements. Director Butler, of the International Labour Organization, proposed an inquiry board to consider the economic and social aspects of the world textile industry with emphasis on the wage situation among textile producing nations.
