ALBION CLUB’S MEETING

The annual meeting of the Albion Football Club was held in the Cosy Lounge last evening when Mr F. Wallis, jun., presided. There was a good attendance. . , , In moving the adoption of the annual report and balance-sheet Mr Wallis said that the club was in a sound position financially. He added that with the universal half-holiday a better competition was ensured for the coming season. He thanked the committee and coaches for their good work and wished the club every success in the coming season. The following officers were elected. — President, Mr F. G. Townsend; secretary and treasurer, Mr B. Henderson; club captain, Mr W. G. Wilson; coaches, Messrs Wilson and Townsend; committee, Messrs A. H. Smith, F. Wallis, jun., A; C. Steel, W. Southern, L. Clode, J. Stickle, R. Leslie, D. Agnew, F. Steel, R. A. Wallis, and M. Ussher; auditor, Mr R. Chatterton; delegates to Eastern Sub-Uiuon, Messrs Wilson and Townsend. The new president, Mr Townsend, made a small presentation to the retiring president as a token of esteem from the members for his work for the club. The following new members were elected. —Messrs J. Mackie, S. O. Cuttriss, L. Clode, Roulston, R._ Ware, D. Dunnet, McGregor, A. Macintosh, L. Barsdell, J. Stickle, J. Buchanan and C. McDonald. , Opening day was fixed for Saturday, April 3, and the secretary was mstructed to try to arrange friendly matches. LAWN TENNIS The following team has been selected to represent Eastern B in a match against West Otago at Heriot tomorrow: —Miss K. Edgar, Miss H. Baird, Mrs M. Penny, Miss A Sherborne, Miss M. Baird and Miss Z. Traynor; J. Calder, F. Hutton, W. Irvine, 'E. Wyeth, G. Gar dyne and W. Leishman. Emergencies.—Miss M. Hampton and J. Calder. CRICKET At a meeting of the emergency committee of the Eastern Southland Cricket Association it was decided, to close the senior competition and declare Celtic the winners.
