RUNAWAY ENGINE HITS TRAIN

DRIVER’S EFFORT TO SAVE COMRADE ROME, March 3. Two persons were killed and six injured when a runaway engine collided with a train near Udine. The brakes of the engine failed and, seeing that a collision was inevitable, the driver seized the fireman and threw him out in the hope of saving his life, but both were injured. The driver and the guard of the train were killed.
