1931 SCALE OF PAY

Employees Of City Council MEN HOLDING SAME JOBS AFFECTED Those officers of the Invercargill City Council who are now in the same positions as they held in March 1931 are to have their present salaries restored to the 1931 level. This decision was reached by the council last night after a long discussion in committee. The increase will operate from July 1, 1936, entailing a retrospective payment. The city engineer, Mr F. M. Corkill, and the Town Clerk, Mr W. F. Sturman, left the meeting when the committee discussion began. Before they returned, the council had gone into open meeting, and confirmed the resolution, which was then placed before the two officers.
