Fortrose BOATING CLUB

There was a small attendance of members at a general meeting of the Fortrose Boating Club. The date of the annual regatta was not fixed, the secretary being instructed to communicate with the Invercargill Boating Club and the Railway Rowing Club to find which day suited them best. It was decided to hold the opening race of the club’s competition at the new year week-end. J. Speden’s Foam has just been completely overhauled and looks very neat. It will be in the water this week. M. Chisholm has nearly finished his new Idle Along class yacht, and considerable interest is being taken in this latest addition to the club’s fleet. PICTURE SHOWN - Burns Bros, of Wyndham, the picture theatre proprietors, gave a showing of “Splendid Fellows” in aid of the school funds. In spite of bad weather there was a large attendance.
