EMPIRE CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE
Delegation Arrives in City
PROGRAMME OF ENTERTAINMENT
A party of delegates to the Congress of Chambers of Commerce of the British Empire, held at Wellington, arrived in Invercargill on Saturday afternoon and attended a reception arranged by the Invercargill Chamber of Commerce in the evening. Spring fortunately did not on Saturday exercise its privilege of bringing stormy weather when it is least appreciated, and a fine day gave the party a good first impression of Southland and of Invercargill. Somewhat smaller than had been expected to come to the most southern part of New Zealand, the party will spend only three days in the province, and actually left Invercargill yesterday morning on a trip to Te Anau and the Eglinton Valley. The visitors will spend to-night at Te Anau and to-morrow morning will come down to Gore to connect with the north express.
