VALUE OF CONGRESS
OPINIONS OF LEADER OF PARTY. The value to all delegates, and to all the nations of the Empire, of the Congress of Federated Chambers of Com- I merce of the British Empire was emphasized by Mr J. A. Aiton, leader of the party, in an interview on Saturday. It was early yet to say what actual good would come from the discussions. Actual decisions were for the various governments to make, but delegates would do their share in put- | ting the expressed views of the congress ; before their own governments.
Delegates were the selected. commercial representatives of the nations, and he trusted that some of their representations to their own governments would be listened to. He had had considerable experience of such conferences and could say without doubt that the 1936 congress was the best he had ever attended.
