AIR TRAVEL GROWS IN POPULARITY
INCREASE IN MILEAGE OF BRITISH PLANES. (British Official Wireless.)
(Rec. 5.5 p.m.) Rugby, September 19. A report on the progress of civil aviation shows a marked expansion in the use of air travel and transport. The mileage of British civil aircraft on Continental, Empire and internal services was more than doubled last year. Passengers increased by 60 per cent, and mails by 300 per cent.
