RECORD NUMBER OF MARRIAGES
BRIGHTER OUTLOOK IN VICTORIA.

Melbourne, September 17. The number of marriages in Victoria in the six months ended June SO8224—was the highest on record. The Government Statistician said that the improvement on the corresponding period last year, when the number was 7717, is probably due to the revival in industry and the better financial outlook throughout Australia.
