MEN ON EMPLOYMENT RELIEF
SMALLER NUMBER THAN LAST YEAR. (United Press Association.) Wellington, September 16. The number of males wholly or partly dependent on the Employment Promotion Fund on August 29, compared with the number on August 1, was as follows:—

Registered, but not eligible or not placed on relief 2,700 2,804 Receiving rationed relief work under Scheme No. 5 15,519 15,945 Receiving sustenance without work 25,994 26,296 Receiving full time employment, wholly or partly paid from tire Employment Promotion Fund 6,584 8,958 Totals 50,847 54,003
The figures show a decrease of 9959 compared with the figures on August 31 last year.
