Woodlands EVENING BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT

The final evening tournament of the Awarua Basketball Association was held in the Woodlands Hall, a record attendance being present. The Awarua tournament trophy was won by the Roslyn Bush Club, the runner-up being Mabel Bush. The consolation prize for the evening was won by Woodlands A. Mabel Bush was the winner in the men’s competition. Mr E. Hargest, of Kennington, president of the association, presented the cup to the Roslyn Bush team, congratulating it on its win and fine record for the whole season. Miss Calvert, the captain, returned thanks for her team, the coach of which was Mrs McAlpine.

Mr Hargest also presented the Emerson Shield, competed for in day matches, to the Roslyn Bush Club. Mabel Bush was again runner-up. A dance was held. Mr J. Pye was master of ceremonies and the music was supplied by Mrs G. Brown.
