VIOLENT GALE IN N.S.W.
HOUSES BADLY DAMAGED. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 10.20 p.m.) Sydney, September 16. The central and north coast of New South Wales to-day experienced a most severe gale of brief duration. A house near Mullumbimby was blown to pieces, three persons were injured and two other houses were badly damaged. Considerable damage was done to property at Lismore and adjoining towns, where roofs and verandahs were lifted as though they were paper and carried long distances. Several people were given first aid treatment. The dairy herds were panic-stricken.
