Tuatapere Notes

The Tuatapere Plunket Society held a social evening on Wednesday, the hostesses being Mesdames T. G. Hardy, J. Heenan, T. Ward, J. Tuffexy and J. King. Mr H. Stewart was master of ceremonies fox’ the dance and Mesdames S. Walker, F. Kilkelly and Miss W. Hannan supplied the music. Songs were sung by Mr M. Te Au. Competitions were won by Miss J. Brown and Mr W. Austin. Opportunity was taken during the evening to make a presentation to Mrs S. McKenzie (Te Tua) who is leaving the district. Among those present were Mx- and Mrs F. Kilkelly, Mr and Mrs I. Gordon, Dr and Mrs F. M. Dodds, Mr and Mrs T. G. Hardy, Mx’ and Mrs D. Craig; Mesdames J. Mangan, S. Walker, R. Walker, D. Clark, J. Kilkelly, Brown, D. Rodgers, M. Baldwin, Smith, D. Rodgers, jun., H. Jackson, C. Payne, J. Davies, J. Catto, S. McKenzie and H. Benneworth; Misses E. Payne, N. Benneworth, N. Chamberlain, B. Charlton, E. King, F. Horrell, N. Mclntyre, J. Norman, J. Jenkins, B. McLeod, M. Batey, L. Rodgers, W. Hannan, F. Mangan, J. Brown, Muldrew (2), M. Howell, C. O’Brien, Smith, J. Robins, O. Beer; Messrs H. Jackson, Austin (3), S. Miles, N. Hardy, Norman (2), S. Walker, H. McKerchar, H. Stewart, G. Moore, G. Stewart, C. Gregory, F. Guise, R. Henderson, Mair, M. Te Au, Cottam (3) and G. Jenkins. Mrs M. Robson, Invercargill, has been the guest of her daughter, Mrs D. O’Leary, recently.
