Cabinet decided to increase the basic salaries of State employees by 8 per cent. “Next Move To The Sudan” ITALIAN TROOPS IN ABYSSINIA (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) A Canadian, Miss Freda Collier, former secretary to her brother, who was Governor of the Bank of Ethiopia, has arrived in London, having been driven out of Ethiopia after nine years. She said that anyone thought to be unfriendly to Italy was told to go. Addis Ababa was in a deplorable stale. “Most of the native Abyssinians got out, and those remaining do what they are told under a threat of being pul against the wall and shot.” said Miss Collier. “The country is by no means conquered. The Italians in Addis Ababa are continually being attacked, and many Abyssniians who buried their rifles during the Italian advances are now recovering them. “The Italians intend to raise a large army in Abyssinia, and the soldiers are openly told that the next move is to the Sudan.”
