WOMEN’S DIVISION

RIVERTON BRANCH. The sixth birthday party of the Riverton branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union was a successful function. Miss McNaughton presided over a large attendance. A programme of musical and other items was presented by the Misses Carmody, McCulloch (Otautau), F. McKay, M. Cussins and M. Hogg. Other branches represented were Fairfax, Thornbury, Wright’s Bush, Colac Bay and Otautau. Miss Valmai Pankhurst lit the candles and Mrs W. B. Hopcroft, a past-presi-dent of the Riverton branch, extinguished them before the cutting of the birthday cake. Guessing competitions were won by Mesdames Walden and Stewart and Mrs Fraser won the prize for the lucky cup
