WOMEN’S DIVISION

THORNBURY BRANCH. There was a small attendance at the monthly meeting of the Thombury branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union. Mrs J. Hamilton presided. A competition for the best pound of butter resulted: Mrs J. Fallow 1, Mrs J. Rance 2, Mrs J. Hamilton 3. Mrs J. Hamilton was the only entrant in the competition for the best darned sock. The best bloom competition resulted: Mrs J. McLean 1, Mrs J. Fallow and Miss K. Fallow 2 eq. The roll call was “How I would spend £1000.” Mrs P. Mackenzie, of Ringway Ridges, gave a talk on Martin’s Bay. Hostesses for the afternoon were Mrs J. Rance, Mrs J. Buchanan and Miss Urquhart.
