LODGE MEETING

ANCIENT ORDER OF FORESTERS. Chief Ranger Bro. Palmer assisted by his officers presided over a good attendance of members of Court Star of the South at their last regular meeting night. The judges of the shield competition resigned, and P.C.R. Bro. Dalton and P.C.R. Bro. Thomson were appointed to fill the vacancy. It was resolved that an additional trophy be presented for competition for the initiation ceremony only. The drawing-up of rules was left in the hands of P.C.R. Bro. St. C. Macgregor. The visitors’ toast was responded to on behalf of Court Queen, of the South by C.R. Sister Styles, and for Court Southern by I.P.C.R. Bro. Smith. P.C.R. Bro. Smith, of Court Pride of Oamaru, also responded. Nominations were received for officers for the new period and the election will take place next court night. After the business of the evening was concluded the visitors, members’ wives and friends were entertained at a dance.
