GENERAL NOTES The motor vessel Tamatea sailed at 10.15 a.m. yesterday for Stewart Island and returned to Bluff shortly before 5 p.m. The Union Company’s intercolonial steamer Waikouaiti arrived from Sydney yesterday morning with Australian mails and cargo. She was expected to complete last night and sail early this morning for Dunedin. The Shaw. Savill and Albion liner Zealandic is expected to sail this morning for Auckland. The Comliebank has been fixed to load a cargo of phosphate at Ocean Island this month for Lyttelton and Ravensbourne. She is expected at Lyttelton about the end of the month. The Director-General of the Post and Telegraph Department (Mr G MacNamara) has received the following report from the superintendent of the Wellington radio station: —The following information warning was broadcast by the Melbourne radio station at 1.30 a.m. on Tuesday: "Master of the steamer Mulcra reports that number 7 red gas buoy opposite Wilson's Spit is not functioning.” The Blue Star Line has received a wireless message from the Tacoma . Star, en route from London, reporting that she expects to reach Dunedin next Monday afternoon. She will later complete discharge at Lyttelton, thence to Australia to load Homeward.

The Federal Company has received a wireless message from the A. and A. Line motor ship Ashburton, en route from New York, reporting that she has been delayed by bad weather and expected to reach Auckland yesterday. She will later complete discharge at Wellington. Lyttelton. Dunedin and Australia, and is now due at Wellington next Monday. The Port Line has received a further wireless message from the M.-A.-N.Z. Line steamer Canadian Scottish, en route from Montreal, reporting that she had been further delayed by bad weather and now expected to reach Auckland yesterday She will later complete discharge at Wellington. Lyttelton and Dunedin, and is due at Wellington next Monday. The Finnish barque Winterhude is to load a cargo of guano at Seychelles Islands about October and November for Auckland, where she is due about the end of December.
